HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
Bouskoura witnessed a large-scale security campaign in recent days targeting the surroundings of a number of educational institutions, resulting in the arrest of dozens of people suspected of involvement in harassment and verbal and physical harassment of female students near schools.
This operation came within the framework of strengthening the security presence around educational spaces and addressing all behaviors that affect the safety of male and female students. The campaign, which was carried out by Royal Gendarmerie patrols, included black spots where such acts were suspected of being repeated, where suspicious movements of strangers were monitored and immediate intervention was taken to stop those concerned and take the necessary legal measures against them. According to consistent data, these security movements come in response to complaints from parents and warnings from local activists who called for providing greater protection for female students around educational institutions. This initiative has received wide acclaim from the residents and parents of the students, who expressed their satisfaction with the strengthening of the sense of security near the schools. A number of them also demanded the continuation of such campaigns periodically, in order to deter anyone who would be tempted to exploit the school environment to harass female students or threaten their safety.
