The Political Bureau of the Party of Progress and Socialism welcomed the easing of the tense situation that the legal profession had witnessed, through the return of lawyers to resume their work, based on conducting a deeper consultation regarding the review of the law regulating the profession before referring it to the legislative discussion and approval procedure.
The party expressed its aspiration that the dialogue regarding this necessary reform be conducted in a positive, consensual, and solution-producing manner. The party expressed its hope that the dialogue would lead to a cohesive and creative formula for the draft law regulating the legal profession; and in a way that preserves the prominent societal status of this noble profession, which is linked to freedoms, rights, and democracy; and in a way that safeguards its independence and self-organization; and protects it from all practices incompatible with its noble mission; and in a way that puts it at the service of the citizen's right to access justice and a fair trial.
