The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Casablanca Court of Appeal has revealed details of a person jumping from a fourth-floor window at the headquarters of the National Brigade of Judicial Police, which led to his death after being transferred to the hospital.
The Attorney General at the Casablanca Court of Appeal announced in a statement to the public that on the evening of Wednesday, February 18, 2026, a person, who was the subject of a judicial investigation, jumped from a window on the fourth floor at the headquarters of the National Brigade of Judicial Police in Casablanca, which resulted in the person being seriously injured and requiring urgent transfer to the hospital, where he underwent the necessary first aid, but he passed away in the early hours of Thursday, February 19, 2026. He explained that "as soon as this Public Prosecutor's Office was notified of the incident, it issued instructions to subject the body of the deceased to a medical examination entrusted to a tripartite medical committee composed of specialist doctors in forensic medicine, and also directed instructions to the Casablanca Judicial Police Department to open a judicial investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident." The statement revealed that preliminary investigations showed that "the deceased was the subject of a judicial investigation at the research office located on the fourth floor at the headquarters of the National Brigade and while the officer in charge of the investigation was about to implement the instructions of the Public Prosecutor's Office aimed at subjecting him to custodial measures, and recording the mentioned procedures in the register prepared for this purpose, the person concerned pretended to stand up and went directly to a side window overlooking the interior space of the building and extended the front of his body towards the outside and threw his body from the window." The statement continued that the observations made at the scene of the incident showed "the removal of a part of a plastic belt from the window frame and it also appeared that the person concerned first hit a fence made of "inox" material in the courtyard of the ground floor, which resulted in the distortion of a number of parts of the mentioned fence, and after that on the basement floor," adding: "Bloodstains were also observed at the impact site." The Attorney General continued that the results of the medical examination conducted by a tripartite medical committee revealed "that the death was due to complications resulting from the injury after several bruises with multiple fractures at the level of the skull, facial bones, ribs, and femur with the presence of subarachnoid hemorrhage," noting that "the multiple injuries sustained by the deceased are consistent with the position of the person throwing his body from the window."
