The same data clarified that international companies have expressed their willingness to invest significant sums to finance the railway tunnel project between Morocco and Spain, which could lead to a major change in trade and economic relations between Africa and Europe.

They also confirmed that studies are underway regarding the project which is expected to connect the narrowest point between Spain and Morocco, which stretches from La Punta de Oliveros in Tarifa to Malabata in Tangier, with the tunnel initially able to be equipped with a single railway track to speed up the project completion time.
