The General Consulate of the Kingdom in Barcelona continued, during the end of this week, its exceptional mobilization in order to respond to the administrative needs of Moroccans residing in its consular district.
This initiative falls within the framework of the continuous mobilization of Moroccan consular services aimed at ensuring accurate monitoring of the services provided to Moroccans residing abroad and improving their quality. It also embodies the policy of proximity pursued by the Kingdom, in implementation of the high instructions of King Mohammed VI, calling for bringing the administration closer to Moroccans around the world. This process is also part of the implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, which aims to improve consular services, integrate new procedures, and adapt services to the seasonal and professional constraints of the beneficiaries. In this context, hundreds of consular services were provided to Moroccans residing in Barcelona and its surroundings, especially those whose professional commitments or geographical distance prevent them from going to the consulate during the week. In statements to the Moroccan News Agency, a number of beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the services provided, noting this initiative, which they considered of special importance to people whose professional commitments prevent them from accessing consular services during working days, and they praised the continuous care that His Majesty the King has been giving to the Moroccan community residing abroad. Recently, the central services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a coordination meeting via visual mirroring technology with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Madrid and the twelve general consulates accredited in Spain, after which a number of measures were adopted, including extending the reception hours of the beneficiaries until six in the evening, instead of three in the afternoon, from Monday to Friday, as well as the adoption of shifts on Saturdays, Sundays and official holidays. These measures aim to enable all beneficiaries with appointments to spend their purposes in the best conditions. It was also decided to maintain a permanent mobilization of the consulate's cadres and employees, in order to ensure a rapid and effective response to the needs of Moroccan citizens.
