HIBAPRESS – Ahmed Al-Musaed
As part of the High Royal care for vulnerable groups, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity in the city of Oujda supervised the launch of the food support operation "Ramadan 1447 AH". This annual initiative comes to reinforce the values of solidarity and cooperation that characterize Moroccan society, especially during this holy month. This operation aims to provide food support to families suffering from vulnerability, with a focus on widows, people with disabilities, and the elderly without families.
At the level of the Oriental region, about 100,016 families benefited, and at the level of the prefecture of Oujda-Angad, 6,196 families benefited, distributed between the urban area (48%) and the rural area (52%), where the Foundation was keen to ensure that the food basket includes essential materials that are in high demand on the Ramadan table, as each share includes 10 kg of premium flour, 5 liters of cooking oil, 4 kg of sugar and 850 grams of tea, two cans of tomato concentrate (800-850 grams), 5 kg of rice, 1 kg of lentils, 1 kg of pasta, and 6 liters of sterilized milk.
To ensure that the operation goes smoothly, 6 distribution points were adopted in the Oujda municipality to avoid overcrowding, and regional and local committees are working to monitor the quality of the materials and audit the lists of beneficiaries.
It is worth noting that this year's operation adopted the Unified Social Registry as a precise digital targeting mechanism, which ensures that aid reaches its actual beneficiaries with transparency and efficiency.
