HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyawi
Yesterday, Saturday, February 21, 2026, the distribution of food aid began in various communities in the Taza region, within the framework of the national "Ramadan 1447 AH" operation, which is supervised by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, in implementation of the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory.
This social initiative of deep humanitarian dimension comes in conjunction with the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan, in a practical embodiment of the values of solidarity and social cohesion that His Majesty the King, in his capacity as Commander of the Faithful, is keen to consolidate for the benefit of vulnerable and needy groups, especially poor families, widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities. This operation aims to alleviate the living burdens that weigh on low-income families during the holy month, and to strengthen the spirit of cooperation within society, in harmony with the tolerant teachings of the Islamic religion, and the principles of the National Initiative for Human Development, which was launched by His Majesty the King in 2005. In the context of strengthening governance and transparency in targeting, for the first time, reliance was placed on the updated socio-economic data of families registered in the Unified Social Registry, under the supervision of the Ministry of Interior, with the aim of ensuring that support reaches its beneficiaries and improving the effectiveness of social programs in accordance with the high royal directives. According to official data, a total of 35,360 families benefited from this noble humanitarian operation, including 7,306 families in urban areas and 28,054 families in rural areas. The families concerned benefited from a complete food basket that includes basic materials, including flour, milk, rice, oil, sugar, tomato concentrate, pasta, lentils, and tea. This initiative received wide acclaim among the residents of the region, who praised its social importance and its positive impact in alleviating the burden of daily expenses during the month of Ramadan, considering it a real embodiment of the royal care linked to the vulnerable groups.
