HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The Chlalat commune, near the city of Mohammedia, has witnessed a worrying accumulation of garbage in a number of spots in recent days, turning some neighborhoods into open spaces for waste in a scene that has angered the residents.
A number of citizens confirmed that the situation has worsened significantly, especially with the absence of regular interventions to collect garbage, which led to the spread of bad smells and the proliferation of insects, amid fears of serious health and environmental repercussions. The severity of the problem is more evident near the Al-Marwa division, where the sides of the roads and empty spaces have turned into random dumps for household waste and construction debris. Local figures and civil society associations demanded that the competent authorities urgently intervene to find a radical solution to this problem, by strengthening the fleet and mechanisms for collecting waste and monitoring the black spots where this phenomenon recurs.
