In a move that was widely welcomed by residents, the Governor of Berrechid decided to set new fares for second-class taxis within the urban area of the Berrechid, Deroua, and El Kara municipalities.
According to the data in the decision, the fare for transporting one passenger was set at seven dirhams, two passengers at eight dirhams, and three passengers at ten dirhams. This is within the framework of organizing the sector and responding to citizens' complaints related to the high fares. The decision also stipulated the adoption of a unified fare during the night period, where the amount of ten dirhams was set for transporting one, two, or three passengers. This fare is applied from nine o'clock at night to five o'clock in the morning during the period from May 1st to September 30th, and from eight o'clock at night to six o'clock in the morning during the period from October 1st to April 30th. The decision emphasized the need to display these fares clearly within all taxis for the benefit of users, while complying with the applicable legal provisions. It is expected that this measure will contribute to enhancing transparency and organizing the relationship between drivers and customers, as well as alleviating the burden on citizens and ensuring respect for the set fares.
