HIBAPRESS – I.Samlali
The global Moroccan star "French Montana" grabbed the spotlight on social media platforms, turning an ordinary trip in the streets of Cairo into rich material for interaction and controversy.
Through a sarcastic video on the "TikTok" platform, "Montana" appeared abandoning his usual fleet of luxury cars, replacing them with a horse-drawn carriage "hantour" to tour the alleys of the Egyptian capital. This step was not just a spontaneous show, but came as a comedic message that carried within it a sharp criticism of the crazy rise in fuel prices, which made the clip quickly gain interaction, as it touched a sensitive chord with millions of followers who face similar economic pressures in different countries around the world. This "Montanian" satire comes at a very sensitive time in which the global energy sector is witnessing severe disturbances, as oil prices have recorded record levels, affected by the escalating geopolitical and military tensions in the Middle East, especially with the continuous threats that have affected the stability of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. These international crises have directly cast their shadows on local markets, where the price of a liter of "gasoil" in Morocco reached unprecedented levels, which made the traditional means of transportation that the global star used a mandatory "economic" symbol, amid widespread praise for the ability of art to adapt black comedy to shed light on the suffering of the ordinary citizen with the cost of living.
