HIBAPRESS – Agencies
Tourism companies have confirmed an increase in tourist visa fees for entry into Egypt, with the cost rising to $30 starting March 1st for those arriving through Cairo airports and coastal cities.
Companies "Intourist," "Anex," "Pegas Touristik," "Russian Express," "Spice Travel," "Spectrum Group," and "ICS Travel Group" told the "Vestnik Ator" agency that the visa fees affixed to the passport will increase from $25 to $30, according to information received from receiving companies in Egypt. The Public Relations Department of "Intourist" explained that upon arrival at Hurghada International Airport, two stickers will be affixed to the tourist's passport: the first worth $25 and the second an additional $5. This system also applies to those arriving via Cairo International Airport and Mediterranean airports (Alexandria, El Alamein, and Marsa Matrouh). "Anex" and "Russian Express" pointed out that Russian citizens still retain the ability to obtain a free stamp for the Sinai region upon arrival at Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport, for a stay of up to 15 days, provided they do not leave the boundaries of the Sinai region. However, if they wish to take tourist trips outside of Sinai, such as visiting Cairo, they must obtain a paid visa for $30. "Pegas Touristik" added: "The rules for obtaining a free stamp for the Gulf of Aqaba region remain the same, allowing travel only within the boundaries of the cities of Sharm el-Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba, and Taba. Those wishing to visit other governorates in Egypt must obtain a paid visa that allows them to travel freely throughout the country."
