The Al Hoceima region recorded, moments ago, a light earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale, centered in the Tamsint commune, which caused a state of fear and anticipation among citizens.
According to preliminary data, a number of residents of the surrounding areas felt the tremor, especially in Imzouren, Ait Kamra, and Beni Bouayach, where citizens felt an earth tremor that lasted for a few seconds. Despite its weak intensity, it was clearly felt due to its shallow depth. This tremor brought back to the residents' minds the seismic memory that characterized the region during the past years, which makes such aftershocks, even if limited, a source of legitimate concern for citizens, especially during the night hours of the month of Ramadan. No human or material losses have been recorded, pending the issuance of detailed official data from the competent authorities.
