Further to the previous decision, an informed source has reported the issuance of a joint decision by the Minister of Interior and the Minister of Health and Social Protection, modifying Joint Decision No. 1250.25 issued on 15 Dhu al-Qa'dah 1446 (May 2025), concerning the determination of health and safety standards to be adhered to in the processes of burial, transportation, and removal of bodies from graves.
This decision comes in the context of updating the legal framework governing these operations, where the related provisions have been reviewed as part of completing the legal drafting and refining certain formal aspects, to ensure greater clarity and applicability and to avoid any ambiguity in interpretation. This step also aims to achieve a greater degree of harmony between the technical controls and the symbolic dimension associated with this field, thereby enhancing the consistency and clarity of the regulatory framework. In this context, the new decision stipulates that the mortuary vehicle should remain free of any phrases or logos, except for specific phrases to be included on both sides of the vehicle according to the following order: "There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah," and "Every soul shall taste death," and "Transportation of Muslim deceased." The decision also allows for the possibility of referring to some information about the owner of the vehicle, to be included on the rear door of the vehicle. This new decision falls within a purely technical organization aimed at strengthening the conditions of prevention and safety, and providing a suitable healthy environment during the various operations related to burial and the transportation of bodies, while emphasizing respect for religious and social values.
