Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, affirmed that global football is witnessing a "quiet revolution" under the tenure of FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
Lekjaa added, in a video message broadcast by the Moroccan national team's pages on social media, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Infantino's assumption of the presidency of the international football body, that "in general, we are witnessing a quiet revolution in global football, and a radical transformation in the International Federation of Football." He continued, "Speaking about the achievements of Mr. Gianni Infantino (who was elected on February 26, 2016) at the head of FIFA, I think it is self-evident to recall that what he has achieved has been enormous, as it is a comprehensive transformation of FIFA." In this regard, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation pointed to "the comprehensive review of FIFA's governance, especially those related to its finances, which doubled FIFA's revenues and resources, and subsequently allowed the doubling of development efforts in all continents, two and three times over." In the same context, Lekjaa reviewed "the review and reforms related to competitions, starting with the Men's World Cup by increasing the number of national teams, up to all competitions related to all age groups, men and women." He affirmed that "Mr. Gianni Infantino has, in general, achieved qualitative leaps at the level of FIFA in the logic of globalizing football, which has allowed the African continent and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation the honor of participating alongside Spain and Portugal in the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup, for the second time in the African continent, according to the logic of three countries and two continents celebrating the centenary of football." On the other hand, Lekjaa mentioned that Infantino "enabled the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to host the FIFA regional headquarters in Africa in Rabat, which is of great importance," adding that this initiative "provides an opportunity for development, training, and framing." The president of the Federation concluded by emphasizing that "like the rest of the African and international federations, we have all benefited from these resources allocated for development," which "contributed to accelerating football development programs, whether at the level of infrastructure or training."
