The Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, the official government spokesperson, Mostafa Baitas, announced on Thursday that the local committees headed by the Ministry of Interior at the level of prefectures and provinces, organized 43,412 monitoring operations from the first of Shaaban to the 6th of Ramadan 1447, which led to the detection of 4,038 violations.
Baitas explained, in response to a question during a press conference following the weekly meeting of the Council, that 1,101 of these violations were the subject of warnings to the violators, and 2,937 were the subject of preparing reports on them and sending them to the competent courts. He added that based on the interventions made by the concerned committees during the mentioned period, about 273 tons of products unfit for consumption or not complying with the applicable regulatory standards were seized and destroyed. On the level of supply during the blessed month of Ramadan, the Minister affirmed that all markets are sufficiently supplied with various essential materials that are consumed, reminding that the weekly meeting, which is attended by various specialized sectors, aims to continuously monitor the proactive situation of the national markets during the month of Ramadan, and to assess the supply situation, price levels, as well as monitoring operations. He concluded that all the data provided by the various sectors confirms that after the first week of Ramadan, the supply in the national markets is taking place normally and in natural conditions, with sufficient availability of the various materials needed by the consumer.
