The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Appeal in Nador organized a study day on the occasion of National Road Safety Day under the slogan "Road Safety: A National Challenge and Shared Responsibility," on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The event was attended by a number of legal and security actors and aimed to raise awareness about the importance of coordination between different sectors to ensure road safety and reduce accidents.
The event was opened with a speech by Abdelmajid Mouncef, the First President of the Court of Appeal in Nador, who emphasized that road safety is not the responsibility of one entity alone, but a shared responsibility that requires the concerted efforts of all sectors. The interventions highlighted the role of judicial and security institutions in achieving these goals, starting from the courts of first instance to the public prosecutor's office.
The interventions also addressed the role of the various concerned parties in promoting the national road safety strategy, where Soufiane Hafid spoke about the role of the judiciary in applying road safety laws, and Akram Hassani explained how the Public Prosecutor's Office intervenes to bring charges against violators. Nawal Afkir emphasized the importance of updating and implementing laws to keep pace with developments.
The study day concluded with the participants emphasizing the importance of coordination between all relevant parties. The Attorney General of the Appeal, Tayeb Abdelghani, indicated that this event is not just an occasion for celebration, but an opportunity to encourage everyone to take practical steps to promote a culture of road safety and protect lives.
