HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyaoui
As part of ongoing efforts to monitor the safety of food products and protect the health of citizens, elements of the Royal Gendarmerie in Moulay Yacoub managed, on Thursday, February 26th, around 12:30 pm, to seize a significant quantity of chicken meat unfit for consumption.
This operation occurred during a judicial blockade and routine inspection within the territorial jurisdiction of Moulay Yacoub, where a "Fiat" light vehicle was stopped, coming from the city of Fez towards the city of Meknes. The inspection resulted in the seizure of approximately 375 kilograms of expired chicken meat that did not meet the applicable health standards. According to initial data, the driver of the vehicle stated that the seized quantity belonged to a company active in the field and based in the center of Fez. The National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA) was notified and attended to inspect the seized items and take the necessary legal actions. By instructions from the competent Public Prosecutor's Office, it was decided to destroy the seized quantity in accordance with the procedures in force, while a judicial investigation was opened under its supervision by the Royal Gendarmerie in Moulay Yacoub, in order to determine all the circumstances and details and arrange legal responsibilities. This operation falls within the framework of the intensive efforts made by the Royal Gendarmerie in Moulay Yacoub, under the direct supervision of the company commander, who is known for his high professional competence and dedication to duty, in order to enhance field monitoring and address everything that would threaten the health safety of citizens. The case is still under follow-up.
