Within the framework of implementing major projects related to the rehabilitation of infrastructure and strengthening water security in the Fes-Meknes region, the Regional Multi-Service Company Fes-Meknes held a working meeting with representatives of the European Union and the French Development Agency on Thursday. The meeting was dedicated to following up on financing agreements and reviewing the progress of priority projects in the region.
The meeting constituted an evaluation point to assess the progress of the implementation of the funded programs, especially those related to strengthening drinking water supply networks and expanding liquid sanitation services, in line with the demographic and economic transformations that the region is witnessing, and meeting the requirements of environmental sustainability. This partnership falls within an integrated vision aimed at modernizing the public water and sanitation facility, by improving technical efficiency, raising the quality of services, and ensuring equitable access for the population, in addition to enhancing the ability to cope with the effects of water stress and climate change. The company's management affirmed during the meeting that the momentum of this program reflects an institutional commitment to accelerating the pace of implementation and respecting internationally adopted technical and environmental standards, stressing that the next phase will see the strengthening of governance and monitoring mechanisms to ensure sustainability and effectiveness. For their part, representatives of international partners renewed their continuous support for the ongoing projects, praising the level of technical and institutional coordination, and considering that this initiative represents a model for fruitful cooperation in the field of water resources management and supporting territorial development. This step reflects a strategic direction towards consolidating a regional development model based on water security, protecting environmental systems, and improving the quality of life of citizens, which enhances the attractiveness of the Fes-Meknes region as a sustainable development hub.
