US President Donald Trump announced the launch of a "large-scale military operation against Iran," describing the Iranian regime as a "vicious group of cruel and bad people".
Trump said in press statements: "We just started a large-scale operation against Iran to defend the American people and eliminate the threats posed by the Iranian regime." He added that "the dangerous activities of the Iranian regime put the United States, its forces, its bases abroad, and its allies around the world at risk," and that "the Iranian regime has, over the past 47 years, repeated slogans such as death to America." Trump accused Iran of launching "a never-ending bloody campaign of mass killings that targeted the United States, its forces, and innocent people in several countries."
