Bahrain announced on Saturday that "attacks targeting sites and facilities within the Kingdom's borders" had occurred, launched from outside its territory.
In a statement by the National Communication Centre, published by the official news agency, BNA, the Kingdom considered the attacks a "flagrant violation of Bahrain's sovereignty and security". Security and military authorities immediately began implementing approved emergency plans and taking the necessary field measures. The National Communication Centre expressed the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain's strong condemnation of "these treacherous attacks that pose a direct threat to the Kingdom's security and the safety of its citizens and residents on its land." The statement also affirmed that Bahrain "reserves its full right to respond and take the necessary measures to protect its national security and preserve its sovereignty, in coordination with its allies and partners."
