The residents of Sidi Allal El Bahraoui were shaken last night by a shocking incident after a newborn baby girl was found abandoned in front of the Ar-Rahma mosque, immediately after the Tarawih prayer, in circumstances that caused widespread dismay among citizens.
According to consistent information, some worshipers found the infant wrapped and placed inside a cardboard box near the door of the mosque, in a painful scene that reflects the extent of the suffering that innocent children may be exposed to due to inhumane actions. The Royal Gendarmerie were notified and arrived at the scene immediately upon receiving the news. This, the infant was quickly transported by ambulance to the local hospital in Tiflet to receive first aid, before being transferred to Ibn Sina Hospital in Rabat due to her health condition, in order to undergo the necessary examinations and provide the required medical care. In the same context, the competent authorities opened an investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, in order to reveal the circumstances of this illegal and inhumane act, and to determine responsibilities and arrange penalties in accordance with the law.
