French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday held Iran primarily responsible for the deterioration of the regional situation, while also indicating that he had ordered the aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" to the Mediterranean Sea.
Macron said in a speech to the French people that he had issued orders to send the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle with the fleet and frigates to enhance France's naval capabilities, with the deployment of "Rafale" aircraft, air defense systems and airborne radars, in a move that will continue in the coming days. He also announced the dispatch of defense systems to Cyprus as a precautionary measure. He stressed that France has defense agreements with Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE, and will show its solidarity with its partners in the region. French President Emmanuel Macron held Iran "primarily responsible" for the war in the Middle East, despite acknowledging that the United States and Israel launched the attack on it "outside of international law". Macron said, "Iran bears the primary responsibility for this situation," against the backdrop of its "dangerous nuclear program," and its support for "terrorist groups" in Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq, in addition to "orders to open fire on its people." Macron warned against any ground operation that Israel might carry out in Lebanon, describing any such move as a "dangerous escalation and a strategic mistake". He explained: "France stands with the Lebanese authorities in their courageous efforts to secure their security."
