Elements of the police in the Marrakech Security Directorate managed, on the evening of Wednesday, March 4th, to seize 175 units of prohibited fireworks and artificial flares, within the framework of two preemptive security operations to secure the football match between the local team in Marrakech and its counterpart from the city of Safi.
The first operation resulted in the arrest of three people who were caught in the act of possessing and promoting 132 units of fireworks and flares, while the second operation was carried out after monitoring advertisements on social media pages, offering for sale a group of flares. The technical research and field investigations carried out on it enabled the arrest of two people suspected of involvement in this criminal activity, in addition to finding 43 flares in their possession. The suspects arrested within the framework of these security operations have been subjected to judicial investigations which are being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutors, in order to reveal all the circumstances and details of these cases, as well as to determine the remaining possible extensions of these criminal activities.
