HIBAPRESS – Ifrane
Laboratory analyses conducted by the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in the Ifrane region revealed that the water from the springs located in the Ain Salam neighborhood of Ifrane city is not suitable for drinking, after it was subjected to thorough health examinations.
These results came after a number of citizens came to these springs and used their water for drinking, believing that it was natural and safe water. However, the analyses showed that it does not meet the health standards adopted for drinking water, which may pose a risk to the health of citizens if they continue to consume it. In this context, the health authorities called on the residents and visitors of the area to exercise caution and avoid using this water for drinking, due to the potential health and environmental risks that may result, stressing the need to rely on controlled water sources that are subject to the applicable health standards. It is also expected that the necessary measures will be taken by the competent authorities in order to raise awareness among citizens about the dangers of using this water, while working to place warning signs in the place to avoid any use that may threaten public health. Those interested in environmental and health affairs confirm that such cases require intensified awareness campaigns, especially in areas where natural water springs are located that some may mistakenly believe are suitable for drinking, while in reality they may pose a source of health risks if they are not subject to regular monitoring and analysis.
