HIBAPRESS – Guelmim
Educational unions in the Guelmim region have requested an urgent meeting of the regional follow-up and coordination committee, against the backdrop of what they described as an increase in pending files related to the financial and professional rights of female and male teachers.
The trade union bodies explained that a number of compensations related to educational and administrative tasks have not yet been disbursed, including dues for guarding and correcting exams, extra hours, and educational support for the 2024-2025 academic year. This demand came within a joint letter issued by the union coordination, which includes a number of educational unions, where it warned of the delay in disbursing compensation for the frameworks in charge of administrative tasks and compensation for travel between regions and some dues related to salaries, while at the same time demanding clarification of the fate of the financial allocations for the "Pioneering Institutions" grant and settling the status of administrative frameworks within educational institutions. The unions also raised other files related to working conditions within institutions, including the situation of cleaning, guarding, and cooking workers, and compensation for training in the fields of guidance and planning, in addition to the delay in the arrival of Amazigh language textbooks to some institutions. They warned that the continuation of these imbalances could negatively affect the educational climate in the region, calling for an urgent dialogue to address these issues and ensure the stability of the education system.
