HIBAPRESS – I. Asamlali
The series “Who Was Saying” has succeeded in establishing itself as one of the most prominent dramas of this Ramadan season, after breaking the traditional rules of Moroccan drama and presenting an exciting police plot that sparked the curiosity of the audience.
The work posed a pivotal question that lingered on the tongues of the followers throughout the month: "Who killed Amer?", to take the question out of the confines of the small screen and ignite the discussion on social media platforms and become the talk of the town and cafes. The series was distinguished by its style in building mystery and keeping the viewer in a state of constant anticipation, through an ascending course of events where each episode adds a new thread to the mystery of the crime and opens the way for multiple possibilities and doubts. This approach gave the work a distinctive suspenseful character, and made the followers participate indirectly in trying to decipher the crime code, which enhanced the audience's connection to the story throughout the episodes of the series. In addition to the strength of the script, the artistic performance played a pivotal role in the success of the work, as the presence of a group of prominent names contributed to giving credibility to the characters. The actors succeeded in conveying the dramatic transformations and different emotions in a realistic way, which increased the audience's interaction with the course of events. The success was not limited to the public interaction only, but it was reflected in the viewership rates, as the series ranked second among the most followed programs on the first channel during the month of Ramadan. It also recorded a strong presence on digital platforms, after several of its episodes topped the list of the most circulated videos on YouTube, which reflects the ability of Moroccan drama to attract the audience and stir controversy. Participating in this work, in addition to Mohamed Kafi, is a group of prominent actors, including Ibtissam El Arroussi, Souad Khouyi, Mehdi Foulane, Nisrine Toumi, Maryam Bakouch, Hajar El Masdouqi, Hasnaa El Moumni, and Farah El Fassi.
