HIBAPRESS – Casablanca
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs circulated the Friday sermon for today to various imams and preachers in mosques. The sermon was chosen with the topic "The Virtue of the Last Ten Days of Ramadan and the Guidance of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in Them," and it came as follows:
Praise be to Allah, who made some times a season for His goodness, and called us to be exposed in them to the good of His breaths. We praise Him, glory be to Him, for what He has guided us to, and we thank Him for what He has given us of what necessitates thanks and acceptance of Him. We bear witness that there is no god but Allah, a testimony from those who fast Ramadan and spend its nights in prayer, believing and seeking reward, so they have won the satisfaction of Allah and His forgiveness in the present and the future. We bear witness that our master Muhammad is His servant and messenger, the chosen one of Allah from His creation and His beloved, the owner of the straight guidance, and the good morals. May Allah bless and grant him peace in the first ones, and may Allah bless and grant him peace in the last ones, and upon his good and pure family, and his noble companions from the Muhajirin and the Ansar, and upon those who followed them as the night and day follow each other.
As for what follows; O believers, Allah says in His firm revelation: ﴿Indeed, We sent it down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord from every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.﴾[1]. Servants of Allah; here is the month of fasting, most of it has gone, and the most important of it has remained, and what remains of it is distinguished by great virtue and great reward, because the Truth, glory be to Him, has stored in it for His allies more goodness, freedom from the fires, peace, security, and faith, and that is what this noble Surah inspires, and it indicates the great value of this night, and the abundance of the descent of the angels, and the descent of the measures of the entire year in it, and the spread of the signs of peace, prayer, remembrance and standing, and greeting upon the righteous servants and peace. And no one attains all this good except those who spend the night in prayer believing and seeking reward; as the Prophet ﷺ said: «Whoever spends the Night of Decree in prayer believing and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven»[2]; And Allah, the Almighty, has concealed it for wisdoms He knows, as He concealed His greatest name and the hour of response on Friday and the middle prayer; And some people of knowledge have said in verse: And the middle was hidden as the hour of Friday, Likewise, the greatest of the names with the Night of Decree. Among those wisdoms is that the servant has more care and a strong longing and desire to obtain its virtue, so he is in love in seeking it, and he exerts his utmost effort in obtaining its reward. Therefore, the Prophet ﷺ – who is the good example – as narrated by Al-Bukhari from Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her: «When the [last] ten [nights] entered, he would tighten his waist-wrapper, spend his nights in worship, and wake up his family»[3]. This is in addition to what the Prophet ﷺ was upon of reciting the Quran and being generous with good as the wind, and doubling the effort throughout the month of Ramadan. And her saying, may Allah be pleased with her, «tightened his waist-wrapper» is a metaphor for diligence in worship. «And spent his nights in worship», meaning he increased in praying at night, and found his comfort in it from tahajjud and communicating with Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, prostrating and standing, warning of the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord. And the Prophet ﷺ used to pray until his feet cracked, – that is, split. He was told: Do you do this, and Allah has forgiven you your past and future sins? He ﷺ said: «Should I not be a grateful servant»[4]; The Messenger ﷺ worships his Lord, may He be glorified and exalted, in the position of the grateful and the lovers, in glorification and veneration of his Lord, may He be glorified and exalted. And gratitude, servants of Allah, is witnessing the Giver of blessings in the blessings, so the servant is ashamed to disobey His command and prohibition; And the Truth, glory be to Him, is true when He says to His beloved ﷺ, encouraging and specializing: ﴿And during the night, pray with it as an additional prayer for you; it is expected that your Lord will raise you to a praised station.﴾[5]. As for Aisha's saying, may Allah be pleased with her: «And woke up his family», in it is an invitation for all of us to fulfill the duty of advising our families, our children, and our relatives, and encouraging them to seize these blessed nights and days, and explaining their virtue so that they may win their reward and great reward. And it is not enough for a man or woman to strive, and forget their sons and daughters, and they are unaware of good, especially if some of them are distracted by some trivialities that are promoted on social media, and Ramadan passes them with the ten virtues, and they are empty-handed from its blessings and breaths, and that is the real loss and bankruptcy; Because the Prophet ﷺ said: «Two blessings are often missed by many people: health and free time»[6]. May Allah benefit me and you with His clear Quran and with the hadith of the master of the first and the last, and the last of our supplications is that praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. The second sermon Praise be to Allah, by whose grace good deeds are completed, and blessings and peace be upon the guide, the trustworthy Prophet, the illiterate, the compassionate, the merciful to the believers, our master Muhammad, and upon his family and companions, all of them. O community of believers; Likewise, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in the month of Ramadan in general, and in the last ten days in particular, a worshiper, obedient, grateful for the blessings of his Lord, and a truthful and sincere guide to his nation. Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, narrated in Al-Muwatta: «The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was shown the ages of the people before him, or what Allah willed from that, so it was as if he considered the ages of his nation – that is: he counted them short – that they would not reach from the work like what others reached in the length of their lives, so Allah gave him the Night of Decree, which is better than a thousand months»[7]. And that means: that the Prophet ﷺ was shown by Allah, the ages of the previous nations, which are in the hundreds of years, and the ages of this nation are between sixty and seventy, so it was as if he considered the ages of his nation short, so that they would not reach the work and reward what others have reached, so the Generous gave him and his nation the Night of Decree, which is better than a thousand months of work. And in it is the preference of this nation with the abundance of rewards and reward over the shortness of life and the lack of work. And that is the grace of Allah, He bestows it upon whom He wills. So be keen, servants of Allah, on the grace of your Lord, and accept His gift and His generosity upon you, and seize what remains of this holy month, with sincere repentance and plentiful work and sincerity in it, for deeds are by their conclusions. Then increase the prayers and peace on the source of mercy and wisdom, the guide of all good and the intercessor of the nation, our master Muhammad ﷺ. O Allah, bless, grant peace, and bless our master Muhammad, according to his position and his great amount with you. And may Allah be pleased with the rightly guided caliphs; Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman and Ali, and with the rest of the companions from the Muhajirin and the Ansar, and those who followed them and us with them by your mercy and generosity, O Lord of the worlds. And grant victory, O Allah, with Your clear victory, and Your strong support, by the blessing of these blessed days, to whom You have entrusted the affairs of Your servants, and made him Your shadow on Your land, our master, the Commander of the Faithful, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may Allah bless him with health and well-being, and bestow upon him your beautiful hidden graces, the delight of the eye with his beloved Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Moulay El Hassan, strengthened by his brother, the wise Prince Moulay Rachid, and with the rest of the members of the noble royal family, You are Hearing, Answering. And have mercy, O Allah, with Your vast mercy, and Your great generosity, on the two great kings, our master Mohammed V, and our master Hassan II, may Allah make their resting places good, and honor their abode, and make them in a seat of truth with You. O Allah, accept from us fasting, praying, and reciting the Quran, and all other acts of obedience and closeness and all forms of benevolence. O Allah, we ask You in these blessed days, to have mercy on us and have mercy on our parents, and the rest of our dead and the dead of Muslims. O Allah, end our deeds with good deeds, and our lives with happiness, and forgive us and the believers, the living and the dead. Our Lord, give us in this world goodness and in the Hereafter goodness, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Glory, from what they describe, and peace be upon the messengers, and praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
