The Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, confirmed on Friday that regional directors of the culture and youth sectors should take the initiative to open projects that have been completed, without waiting for their official inauguration by the minister.
Bensaid explained, during a live interaction with young people via the Jawaz Al-Shabab platform, that the opening of ready-made facilities should take place immediately after the completion of the work, stressing that the minister's visit to inaugurate the project may take place later, but it should not be a condition for opening the facility to citizens. This clarification came in response to a question posed by a young woman from the city of Khémisset, who spoke about a cultural center that was opened for only one day before being closed again pending the minister's visit to officially inaugurate it. The minister considered such practices unjustified, emphasizing that projects whose construction or rehabilitation work has been completed should be made available to citizens immediately, instead of keeping them closed pending official visits.
