Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused US President Donald Trump of launching the war on Iran for "entertainment and pleasure", stressing that Tehran did not ask for a ceasefire or even negotiations.
In an exclusive interview with the American network "CBS News", Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused US President Donald Trump of committing "war crimes" for "entertainment". He said "People are being killed just because President Trump wants to entertain himself. He said that himself when they were sinking ships and striking different areas – it's fun… even just stating that is a war crime." He added: "The current war is a "Trump and America option" and not Iran's option, stressing that Tehran "will continue to defend itself for as long as the war lasts. We will continue to do so until President Trump acknowledges that this is an illegitimate war with no victory in it. So, this is a war chosen by President Trump and the United States, and we will continue to defend ourselves." The Iranian Foreign Minister categorically denied Trump's claims that Tehran is seeking a deal to end the war, saying: "We, as you know, are stable and strong enough to defend our people against aggression… We never asked for a ceasefire, and we didn't even ask for negotiations."
