The national coach, Mohammed Wahbi, confirmed that he is closely following the young player Thiago Petrasch, indicating that he has been of interest to the technical staff for a long time. This was during the press conference held today, Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, dedicated to announcing the national team's list for the friendly matches against Ecuador and Paraguay.
Wahbi explained that the Real Madrid player is one of the promising names that could have a great future, but he stressed the need to give him enough time to focus with his club and continue his development in a calm atmosphere, away from any pressure that could affect his career. The national team coach added that dealing with young players, especially those active in major clubs, requires balance, highlighting that the goal is to ensure the readiness of these players at the appropriate time to serve the national team. The national team is preparing to face the Ecuador national team on March 27 in Madrid, before meeting the Paraguay national team on March 31 in the French city of Lens, within a friendly program aimed at evaluating the level of the national group and assessing the qualifications of a number of rising elements.
