HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Elbaz
The Italian government announced today, Thursday, the implementation of a new decree aimed at reducing taxes imposed on gasoline and diesel. This decision comes in response to the significant increase in fuel prices in light of the crisis that erupted in Iran, which has affected global energy markets.
According to the government in Rome, the reduction will last for twenty days and is expected to contribute to lowering the price of a liter of fuel by about 0.25 euros (equivalent to approximately 0.29 dollars) immediately. The decree also includes measures to monitor prices and prevent speculation, to ensure that fuel costs do not exceed high levels at sales stations. Officials hope that these measures will contribute to alleviating the economic burdens on Italian citizens during this sensitive period.
