HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Elbaz
In an atmosphere of faith filled with tranquility and reverence, the Moroccan and Islamic community residing in Italy performed Eid prayers at the cultural center in the city of Cantu, amidst a large presence that reflected the depth of connection to religious values and cultural identity despite being away from their homeland.
From the early hours of Eid morning, worshippers, men, women, and children, flocked in a joyful scene that summarized the meanings of unity and solidarity, as the sides of the center were filled with the spirit of love and tolerance, and the Eid takbeers rose in a distinctive spiritual atmosphere that brought to mind the atmosphere of the holidays in Islamic countries. The Imam delivered the Eid sermon, focusing on the sublime values embodied by this blessed day, such as kinship, solidarity, and renouncing division, stressing the importance of positive integration into Italian society while preserving religious constants and cultural identity. This occasion also provided an opportunity to strengthen social ties among community members, as those present exchanged congratulations and blessings, in a scene that reflects the spirit of brotherhood and coexistence, and highlights a bright image of Muslims in the diaspora. The cultural center in Cantu continues to play its pivotal role in guiding the community, by organizing religious and cultural activities that contribute to consolidating the values of moderation and openness, and providing a space that combines worship and social communication. The celebration of Eid by the Moroccan and Islamic community in such an atmosphere confirms that the spirit of Eid transcends geographical boundaries and remains strongly present in the hearts of believers wherever they are, carrying with it messages of peace, love, and brotherhood.
