HIBAPRESS – Abdelatif Elbaz
As part of the proximity policy directed towards Moroccans living abroad, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Madrid organized a mobile consulate in the province of Cuenca, central Spain, with the aim of facilitating the Moroccan community's access to consular services without the need to travel to the capital.

This initiative falls within the efforts of the consular services to enhance the quality of administrative services and bring them closer to Moroccan citizens residing abroad, especially in the Castilla-La Mancha region, which hosts more than 40,000 Moroccans and is one of the most prominent Spanish regions in terms of the density of the Moroccan community.

This process included the provision of multiple services, including the delivery of biometric passports, electronic national identity cards, and certificates of good conduct, in addition to the completion of legal documents and certificates, and the follow-up of administrative and social files.
This initiative was welcomed by the beneficiaries who expressed their satisfaction with bringing the administration closer to their places of residence, which relieved them of the burden of traveling to Madrid.
The Consulate General is also working within its annual program to expand the mobile consulate experience to include other areas, with the aim of generalizing the benefit and strengthening the presence of the consular administration near the community, while this event was an opportunity to hold communication meetings with community activities to discuss ways to develop cooperation in a way that serves the interests of Moroccans around the world.
