HIBAPRESS – Agadir
The budget for the study of the extension of the northeastern Agadir ring road towards Taghazout has increased from 4.99 million dirhams to 9.04 million dirhams, with the aim of enhancing the accuracy of technical aspects and ensuring accurate traffic forecasts in the medium and long term.
This extension is part of a structural project to develop the road infrastructure in the region, and includes the design of the route and intersections, the development of traffic forecasts for 20 years, in addition to technical studies for facilities at the Assersif and Tamraght valleys. This progress accompanies the work on the third section of the project, which is 5 kilometers long, between the port of Agadir and its urban environment, with an investment of 171.7 million dirhams, as part of a project that extends for about 29 kilometers. The studies aim to prepare tender documents for the implementation of the project, which will ensure the completion of the northern city link, improve traffic flow, reduce traffic congestion, and facilitate access to coastal poles such as Imi Ouaddar, Aghroud, and Imesouane, which enhances the tourist attractiveness of the Atlantic coast. The study also includes topographic and geotechnical works, environmental impact assessment, and expropriation designs, to ensure the sustainability and stability of the project with the natural environment. Upon completion, the project will enhance the link between Agadir Airport and the port of Agadir, increase the capacity of the road network, and reduce travel time, which supports the economic and tourism dynamics of the region.
