HIBAPRESS – A. Mahyawi
Meknes is preparing to host one of the most prominent agricultural events nationally and internationally, by organizing the eighteenth session of the International Agriculture Exhibition in Morocco, from April 20 to 28, 2026, under the slogan "Sustainability of Animal Production and Food Sovereignty".
This prominent event is organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in an expanded format that extends for nine days, in a step that reflects the increasing success achieved by the exhibition during previous sessions, both in terms of public turnout and professional participation. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, this session will host Portugal as the guest of honor, within the framework of strengthening international cooperation and exchanging experiences in the agricultural field. The exhibition will open its doors to professionals from April 20 to 28, while the public will be received from April 22 to 28, which provides a wider opportunity for visitors to see the latest innovations and technologies in the sector. The 2026 session focuses on current issues related to the development of animal production chains, especially those related to animal health and animal welfare, in addition to improving the economic and technical performance of livestock farming, in the context of challenges related to sustainability and food security. It is expected that this session will attract about 1,500 exhibitors representing more than 70 countries, with the organization of more than 40 scientific seminars and professional meetings, which enhances the exhibition's position as a strategic platform for exchanging experiences between various actors, from decision-makers to professionals and international partners. The International Agriculture Exhibition in Meknes continues to consolidate its position as one of the most important agricultural events in Africa, and a main pillar for supporting agricultural development and enhancing food sovereignty in the Kingdom.
