The United Nations Human Rights Council condemned on Wednesday Iran's "heinous" attacks on the Gulf states, calling on it to expedite the provision of "compensation" to all its victims, according to the French News Agency.
The council, which includes 47 members, supported a resolution submitted by the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan condemning Iran's moves aimed at closing the Strait of Hormuz and demanding that Tehran "stop all unjustified attacks" immediately.
Earlier, Gulf countries told the council that they face an existential threat from Iran and condemned Iranian attacks on infrastructure, which the High Commissioner said could constitute war crimes.
Jamal Jameh Al-Musharrakh, the UAE's representative to the United Nations, condemned Iran's attempt to destabilize the international order through reckless expansionist adventures.
