The Court of Arbitration for Sport revealed today, Wednesday, that it had received an appeal from the Senegalese Football Federation regarding the decision of the Appeals Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), which ruled to strip Senegal of the title after the "Lions of Teranga" withdrew from the final match against the Moroccan national team.
According to the statement issued by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the Senegalese Federation demands that the title be withdrawn from the Moroccan national team or that the final match, which saw Senegal's withdrawal after the referee announced a penalty in favor of the Moroccan national team, be replayed. It is noted that the Senegalese national team had withdrawn from the field immediately after the referee announced a penalty kick for the Moroccan national team, and the players went to the locker room before returning after about a quarter of an hour to the field to resume the match.
