HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Baraka
The exceptional support platform for road transport professionals in Morocco is witnessing increasing demand, with the number of applications exceeding 64,000 in a short period. More than 30,000 applications were registered in the last two days alone, reflecting the pressure the sector is experiencing due to the rise in fuel prices internationally.
The data shows that taxi drivers top the list of beneficiaries with more than 44,000 applications, representing more than half of the total, followed by cargo transport professionals with about 18,000 applications, while the remaining applications are distributed among various transport and service activities. In contrast, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics has hastened to strengthen the support mechanisms by opening reception centers at the regional level, in addition to allocating a central cell to assist professionals unable to register digitally. The government had relaunched this exceptional support with the aim of mitigating the repercussions of fuel price fluctuations on professionals and ensuring the stability of transport costs, adopting the same previous mechanisms that enabled the acceleration of the disbursement of support and ensuring its delivery to its beneficiaries.
