HIBAPRESS – Abdellatif Elbaz
As part of its annual program for mobile consulates and open days, the General Consulate continued its approach aimed at bringing administrative services closer to members of the diaspora residing abroad. Its team arrived on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the city of Alicante, which houses the honorary consulate.
This initiative witnessed a strong turnout from members of the diaspora, resulting in the delivery of over 160 consular documents, including criminal record certificates, passports, and electronic national identity cards. This process falls within the framework of the proximity policy adopted by the consulate to ease the burden of travel and enable citizens to have smooth access to various administrative services. In an exclusive statement to HIBAPRESS, the Consul General, Said Al-Idrissi Al-Bouzidi, confirmed that these initiatives reflect the consulate's commitment to effectively respond to the diaspora's expectations, noting that "mobile consulates have become an effective mechanism for strengthening direct communication with citizens and providing quality services in appropriate conditions." The consular official added that these operations are not limited to the administrative aspect only, but also constitute an opportunity to listen to the concerns of the diaspora and address their issues, within the framework of a participatory approach aimed at continuously improving consular performance. In parallel, the "Open Days" activities continue today in the city of Valencia, where the consulate places all its services at the disposal of citizens, in a step that aims to enhance transparency and strengthen bridges of trust between the administration and Moroccans around the world. This field dynamism confirms the General Consulate's keenness to establish a modern, close, and effective administration that meets the aspirations of the diaspora and keeps pace with the evolving expectations in a changing international context.
