HIBAPRESS
Mounir El Hajbi began his political career from the city of Nador, where he joined the ranks of the Socialist Youth, before traveling to France and settling there, continuing his activity in the associative field.
There, he contributed to the founding of the Pau Charity association, which is concerned with supporting vulnerable groups and promoting the values of social solidarity. In the city of Pau, El Hajbi continued his presence in associative work, which paved the way for him to enter the local political arena within the left-wing current, where he fought his first electoral experience in 2021, which was not crowned with success, but it was an important station for gaining political and field experience. In the municipal elections of 2026, he was able to achieve a remarkable victory within the left-wing list led by Jérôme Marbot, which was able to outperform the list of François Bayrou, the former French Prime Minister and former mayor of the city of Pau for many years. Following this victory, Mounir El Hajbi was appointed as a member of the municipal council of the city of Pau, and he was also assigned the task of representing the mayor in the Pau Est region, where he will oversee the issues of neighborhoods that have a significant population density of Moroccan, Maghreb and Arab origins, in a step that reflects his increasing presence in the local political scene and his role in representing the issues of the community.
