On Tuesday evening, April 7, 2026, elements of the Provincial Judicial Police Department in Marrakech arrested a woman suspected of involvement in sorcery and the possession and promotion of smuggled pharmaceutical substances that could harm the public health of citizens.
The arrest of the 34-year-old suspect came after the National Security's Information Vigilance Services monitored posts on social media pages showing a woman offering sorcery services and weight gain using a set of smuggled materials. These investigations and inquiries led to the identification of the suspect and her place of residence before her arrest in the act of providing these services to three women in a residential apartment she uses in Marrakech. During the raid, 551 ointments, herbal powders, equipment, and utensils used in this criminal activity were found in her possession, in addition to a sum of money suspected to be from the proceeds of this criminal activity. The arrested woman has been placed under custody, while the three arrested women have been subjected to a judicial investigation, which is being conducted under the supervision of the competent Public Prosecution.
