The International Federation of Football announced the selection of four Moroccan referees in the final list that will officiate the matches of the 2026 World Cup finals, in a new confirmation of the increasing presence of Moroccan refereeing on the international stage.
The list included referee Jalal Jayed as a field referee, along with Zakaria Brinzi and Mostafa Akarkad as assistant referees, while Hamza Al-Farq was selected among the video technology referees, in a step that reflects the confidence these referees enjoy after their distinguished performance in recent years.
The refereeing team approved by "FIFA" includes a total of 52 main referees, 88 assistant referees, and 30 video technology referees, representing 50 national federations from different continents, in the largest refereeing formation in the history of the World Cup, where the names were selected according to the principle of "quality first" and based on the level of performance and continuity in international and local competitions.
