Algerian player Houari Farhani, who plays for Olympic Safi, apologized to Moroccans following the controversy that accompanied his participation in the match that brought together his team with the Algerian Union of Algiers, in the first leg of the semi-finals of the Confederation Cup.
Farhani published a clarification via his social media accounts, in which he expressed his regret for what happened, confirming his great respect for Morocco and its fans, and accompanying his apology with a picture showing him wearing his team's jersey carrying the Moroccan flag. The player explained that the incident was not intentional, attributing it to a technical error related to the person in charge of the luggage, adding that he did not pay attention to the matter due to his complete focus on the course of the match, before the situation was corrected during the second half. The player's apology received a wide response, between those who considered it a positive step to contain the controversy, and those who demanded more clarifications about what happened.
