US President Donald Trump said that China has agreed not to supply Iran with weapons, amid reports that Beijing is considering transferring weapons to Iran.
Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform: "They agreed not to send weapons to Iran (…) China is very happy to permanently open the Strait of Hormuz. I am doing this for them too, and for the whole world. This situation will never happen again. They have agreed not to send weapons to Iran."
He added: "President Xi (Chinese President Xi Jinping) will receive me with great fanfare when I arrive there in a few weeks. We are working together intelligently and with high efficiency! Isn't this better than fighting? But remember, we are very good at fighting, if we have to – much better than any other party."
