HIBAPRESS
The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amin Tahraoui, chaired today, Wednesday in Rabat, a reception ceremony for the members of the health mission in charge of providing health coverage for Moroccan pilgrims during the Hajj season 1447 AH / 2026 AD, in implementation of the high royal instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The health mission consists of 44 members, including specialized doctors, nursing staff, and administrators, in addition to mobile teams specifically for following up on cases receiving treatment in Saudi hospitals during the Hajj period. They are selected from various regional directorates of health and social protection, as well as from central services.
This mission will undertake multiple tasks, including taking care of health cases, monitoring medical situations, providing preventive guidance, in addition to medical interventions in places of residence and during travel between the holy sites, as well as coordination with health services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Tahraoui highlighted, in a speech on the occasion, the great importance of this health mission with its humanitarian and religious dimension, stressing the need to be responsible and disciplined, selfless, and adhere to the spirit of citizenship and serving the public interest.
The Minister called on the members of the mission to "represent the Kingdom of Morocco in the best possible way," by providing high-quality health services, and ensuring the safety and health of pilgrims in the various stages of performing the rituals, emphasizing the pivotal role of the health mission as an extension of the national health system outside the national territory.
He pointed out that the success of this mission depends on high readiness and close coordination between the various components of the mission, and the adoption of a proactive approach based on prevention and rapid intervention, in order to ensure the improvement of the effectiveness of health services provided to Moroccan pilgrims.
Mr. Tahraoui addressed the developments that are being adopted during the Hajj season 2026, which concern strengthening field health coverage through supporting fixed and mobile health points, intensifying rapid intervention teams, and improving mechanisms for following up on medical cases, with enhancing digital coordination between members of the mission, which allows for better management of health cases in a timely manner.
For his part, the head of the health mission for the Hajj season 1447 AH, Ahmed Oudeish, stated in a statement to the press that the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has mobilized 44 medical, nursing, and administrative staff to accompany Moroccan pilgrims, highlighting that a financial envelope of approximately 800,000 dirhams has been allocated to provide medicines and medical supplies.
Oudeish added that healthcare services will be provided through various points in both Mecca and Medina, through teams that ensure the health and safety of pilgrims throughout the period of performing the rituals.
It is worth noting that this season witnesses the adoption of an organized organization for the process of transferring members of the health mission in two stages, ensuring gradual and effective health coverage since the arrival of the first groups, with enhancing the readiness of health teams in the various stages of the Hajj, especially in the reception and accommodation areas and the holy sites.
The organization of this ceremony comes within the framework of ensuring comprehensive health support for Moroccan pilgrims during their performance of the Hajj rituals, by mobilizing qualified human resources capable of providing preventive, curative, and emergency services, and consecrating the values of closeness, listening, and comprehensive health care for the benefit of the guests of Rahman.
