The Criminal Court of First Instance at the Court of Appeal in Fez issued a ruling this Thursday afternoon sentencing a young man involved in a series of robberies targeting a number of pharmacies in the city to ten years in prison.
This ruling came after the accused was convicted of charges related to aggravated robbery accompanied by the circumstance of night, the use of a weapon, in addition to using a motor vehicle, which the judiciary considered proven against him based on the file data. The details of the case date back to January 21st, when the elements of the Provincial Judicial Police Department in Fez were able to arrest the suspect in the act, around eight o'clock in the evening, while he was attempting to carry out a robbery under threat of a white weapon targeting a pharmacy. The person concerned, who bears the initials (Youssef T.), was arrested at the level of the "Ifran" pharmacy located on Muhammad Al-Fassi Street, within the territorial jurisdiction of the Al-Adarisa administrative annex of the Dar Dbibegh district. In the context of deepening the investigation, the security services moved to the suspect's house in the Bensouda area, where a search operation was conducted that enabled the collection of additional data on the criminal acts attributed to him. The investigations also revealed that the descriptions of the detainee matched the suspect in another robbery case that targeted the "Al-Israa" pharmacy in Al-Badi' neighborhood, which is territorially affiliated with the Moulay Yacoub province, which reinforced the hypothesis of his involvement in a series of similar criminal acts. This case falls within the ongoing efforts made by the security and judicial services to combat crime and enhance the sense of security, by addressing various criminal acts that target the safety of citizens and their property.
