Iranian television announced on Wednesday that Tehran may not abide by a ceasefire with America and will act according to its interests.
Iranian media quoted the Revolutionary Guard as saying that its forces are ready to confront any new aggression, adding: "We will direct crushing blows to what remains of the enemy's assets in the event of renewed fighting," stressing the need for vigilance and monitoring the "silent battlefield" during the ceasefire. Hours earlier, US President Donald Trump said he would extend the ceasefire with Iran indefinitely to allow for further peace talks, but it was not clear on Wednesday whether Israel, a US ally in the war that broke out two months ago, would agree to that. Trump added in a statement on social media that the United States agreed to the request of Pakistani mediators "to stop our attack on Iran until its leaders and representatives can reach a unified proposal and conclude the negotiations, one way or another."
