HIBAPRESS – Ahmed Al-Musaed
As part of the proactive preparations to ensure the success of the upcoming summer season, the headquarters of the Saïdia Municipal Council hosted, on Friday, April 24th, an extraordinary session dedicated to deliberating and approving vital points related to the programming of surplus financial resources, directing them towards strengthening the infrastructure and services of the "Blue Jewel".
Exceptional dynamism and proactive management. This session was convened at the request of the Governor of Berkane Province, based on the provisions of Article 37 of Organic Law 113.14 concerning municipalities. The work focused on how to utilize the remaining financial surplus from the budgets of 2024 and 2025, in addition to programming the additional share from the Value Added Tax (VAT) product. This step aims to accelerate the pace of urgent works and ensure the city's readiness to receive the influx of visitors and vacationers, in a manner befitting its status as a prominent tourist hub in the Oriental region.
Allocation of Credits: Priority to Equipment and Aesthetics. The Council approved by majority the allocation of a financial envelope of 2,058,000 dirhams (more than 205 million centimes) from the VAT share, distributed to projects with a direct impact on the quality of services on the beach and in the urban area: Beach equipment: 600,000 dirhams were allocated for the purchase of modern foot washing facilities, and 50,000 dirhams for the purchase of tents; City aesthetics: 500,000 dirhams were allocated for the purchase of decorating equipment, in addition to 300,000 dirhams allocated for urban furnishing and technical equipment; Road safety and signage: 430,000 dirhams were directed to install horizontal and vertical signage panels; Continuing training: 60,000 dirhams were allocated to activate the training agreement for elected officials in partnership with the Oriental Regional Council.
Strengthening Public Lighting and Supporting Local Employment. In terms of strengthening the infrastructure, the allocation of 840,000 dirhams for the maintenance of the public lighting network was approved, including the installation of poles and stakes and the renewal of cables in various neighborhoods, to ensure comprehensive and effective coverage. On the social level, supporting youth formed a key focus in this session; where 800,000 dirhams (80 million centimes) were programmed to support the "Beach Professions Space" project. This project seeks to organize seasonal activities and provide organized job opportunities for the city's residents, contributing to their socio-economic integration during the summer.
An Integrated Vision for Welcoming Vacationers. These approvals reflect the Municipal Council's vision in sound management of available financial resources and directing them towards current priorities. This practical plan aims to: Enhance the urban and aesthetic landscape of the city and its coastal spaces; Improve safety and accessibility indicators by strengthening signage and lighting; Create a local economic dynamism by supporting the seasonal employment of youth.
With this ambitious programming, the municipality of Saïdia is laying the essential foundations for a model summer season, which combines the quality of services and the enhancement of the city's tourist attractiveness.
