HIBAPRESS – Abdel Latif Baraka
The new official in charge of the health system in the Souss-Massa region, General Tareq Al-Harthi, former director of the military hospital in Dcheira El Jadida, has begun his first field movements, placing the issue of human resources and professional discipline at the forefront of his priorities, at a time when health institutions in the region face multiple challenges related to working conditions, staff distribution, and the quality of services provided to beneficiaries.
In this context, he held a meeting with about 60 employees working at the former Hassan II Regional Hospital, a step that reflects a direction towards closely examining the human resources situation and identifying shortcomings related to attendance, punctuality, and productivity. Upcoming moves are also expected to include a number of health institutions in the region, as part of rearranging the internal affairs and strengthening commitment to tasks and responsibilities.
All eyes are on the new official and the approach he will bring to managing a sector that is under increasing pressure, especially in light of the shortage of human resources and the uneven distribution of staff among institutions and geographical areas. The importance of continuing to rehabilitate public hospitals and improving the working conditions of health personnel is also highlighted, which will directly reflect on the quality of services.
This comes at a critical health juncture for Agadir and Souss-Massa, coinciding with the project to rebuild the Hassan II Regional Hospital and enhance the health offer through the university hospital.
The region's population awaits these projects, alongside the reform of management and governance methods, to contribute to overcoming accumulated imbalances and elevating health services to the level of citizens' expectations.
