HIBAPRESS – Tangier
National security and customs elements at the Tangier Med port foiled an attempt to smuggle 238 kilograms of hashish on Monday evening. The drugs were hidden inside prepared cavities in the chassis of a utility vehicle trailer with foreign license plates.
The operation resulted in the arrest of the trailer driver, a Belgian national of Moroccan origin. He was placed under judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecution.
Investigations are ongoing to uncover all potential accomplices and determine the presumed ramifications of this case, as part of security efforts to combat international drug and psychotropic substance smuggling.
